Attended Loyola Marymount University earning professional degrees that focused exclusively on developmental education for children. Aside from earning both the advanced Ed.S and M.A. in Educational Psychology, Ilana holds advanced credentials and certifications in Pupil Personnel Services and educational enrichment for children with exceptional needs. Ilana graduated LMU as a Kappa Delta Pi, Chi Lambda chapter member. Ilana also holds a BA in Psychology from Thomas Edison State College. For over a decade, Ilana worked as a School Psychologist and Program Specialist for the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District in the South Bay. Ilana was recognized by the student services department with distinction for her Multidisciplinary Psycho-Educational Evaluations for students across grade levels. Ilana's day centered around high-profile, legally involved, and complex cases. Ilana was tasked with conducting ERICS Assessments, IEP Compliance, Leading IEP, 504, and SST Meetings, Training, and Supervising School Psychology Interns, Conducting in-service trainings, Crisis Prevention and intervention, and was a professional member of the districts’ Covid Mental Health Task Force. Ilana has garnered significant experience at every step of the educational process. Ilana has thousands of hours of unique and incomparable experiences handling reviews of records, interviews, observations, and tests - administering cognitive, academic, psychological processing and social-emotional rating scales etc. Ilana on a daily basis collaborated with outside specialists (private therapists, doctors) and legal representatives in complex cases, as well as focused on IEP development and monitoring of goal progress and service implementation. Regularly, her colleagues sought her direction as she analyzed and interpreted data to make informed educational recommendations alongside the IEP team. Most importantly, Ilana collaborated sensitively with families and understood the individualized needs of each student. Ilana has defined her professional ambitions and goals to make a difference in children when the system at large lacks the resources to advance and promote their own goals.
